The global ranking
Mexico's Michoacán state alone produces more avocados than any other country, with a harvest that runs nearly year-round — a large share of it crossing into the United States. Colombia has grown explosively into second place, followed by Peru, whose output is almost entirely built for export.
Production and export are different questions: the Dominican Republic and Kenya produce heavily for domestic and regional markets, while Peru and Chile export the large majority of their crops.
From production to European prices
For a European buyer, what matters is not who produces the most but who is shipping to Europe now. The list below shows each major origin's approximate production alongside its live European wholesale average — origins currently in season quote with real liquidity; off-season entries show their last traded levels.
Averages and charts are recomputed daily from automated market scans (wholesale, retail and spot observations across European markets). Informational market intelligence — not financial or trading advice.
